It's an exciting time to be a bobcat fan! The atmosphere at games has never been better with tailgating, new video scoreboards, new fan shops and more.
No matter what sporting event you attend, good sporting conduct is everyone's responsibility. The Southland Conference and Texas State Athletics require good sporting conduct from our student-athletes, coaches and spectators. Your cooperation in supporting the game participants and officials in a positive manner is expected. Profanity, racial or sexist comments or other intimidating actions directed at officials, game participants and other spectators will not be tolerated and may lead to removal from the sporting event.
Texas State is known for having the best fans in the Southland Conference and arguably all of FCS schools. As a leader, we consider it an honor to represent the best of college athletics, and are launching the "Texas State - Playing with Class" good sporting conduct campaign.
As our great university continues to grow, Texas State Bobcats will become leaders of good sporting conduct, modeling safety, civility, and team pride.
- Remember the Golden Rule. Treat others as you wish to be treated.
- Be a good ambassador for Texas State. Welcome visiting teams and their fans to San Marcos.
- You set the standard. The stands are full of young people who are learning their values from you. Please watch your language!
- If you witness an unruly fan, inform a law enforcement officer in one of the stadium breezeways. This is the best way to send the message that a fan's behavior is inappropriate.
- Respect the game officials
- Drink responsibly. Know your limit.
Help spread the word about the "Texas State - Playing with Class" campaign. And remember, being a good fan is also about passion - Get Loud, Be Proud, and wear maroon and gold.
Go Bobcats!
