The 2010 signing day is in the books...err...on the dotted line. Since the Bobcats only had a limited number of scholarships to offer compared to years past, the emphasis had to be on quality. The word "quality" is a word that permeates the academic, athletic, and personal accomplishments of our new student-athletes. This is an exciting and busy time in Bobcat athletics. The basketball teams are approaching the halfway point in their respective Southland Conference seasons, the baseball and softball teams are busy getting ready for the start of their seasons less than a month away, and that football season also known as "recruiting season" is getting ready to wrap up.  (more)

Greetings From the Mic with Bill Culhane The first blog of 2010! On behalf of everyone in the department, we hope your holidays were wonderful and Santa Claus was good to you. The family and I headed east, right after the major snowfall out there, and I got to visit family and freeze my maroon and gold socks off! The kids played in the snow, a group went to a Washington Capitals game (will we ever get ice hockey at Texas State?), and I got to repeatedly sprint from the rental car to inside. Much like many of you, I do appreciate the relatively warm climate in Texas.  (more)

As we approach the end of 2009 and the end of the decade, we should all take time to reflect on what a great year and decade it has been to be a Bobcat. We enjoyed numerous championships and stellar performances by our student-athletes. We have excellent facilities that are only getting better and the enthusiasm of our fans and students are at an all time high.  (more)
