Jayson Santos is in his first season as an assistant athletic director for compliance at Texas State. Santos comes to Texas State from Southeast Missouri State, where he was an Assistant A.D. for compliance for two years.

There, he developed and monitored compliance procedures for 15 NCAA Division I sports, provided verbal and written rules interpretations of NCAA legislation, developed a coaches compliance manual, provided educational sessions for coaches and student-athletes and analyzed and processed yearly compliance reports to the NCAA and the Ohio Valley Conference.

He also served as a membership services intern for the NCAA office, where he provided verbal and written interpretations, analyzed initial eligibility and progress towards graduation for student-athletes. He also developed and maintained databases of world-wide sports events, along with a database of elite prospective student-athletes for the NCAA Amateurism Clearinghouse.

In addition to his experiences at Southeast Missouri State and the NCAA, Santos was a legal intern at Texas Southern where he certified eligibility, created and monitored squad lists for 16 sports, and assisted with monthly NCAA rules education seminars for coaches, student-athletes and administrators.

Santos also served as an intern in the Sports Information office at TSU, where he produced media guides and provided game-day press assistance for various sports.

A native of Houston, Texas, Santos earned a bachelor's degree in journalism at Texas in 2001 and obtained his juris doctor degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston in 2005.
