Bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience from working in professional sports marketing, Bryan Miller begins his fifth year at Texas State as head of the department's marketing and promotion efforts. Miller rejoined the Texas State Athletics staff as director of athletic marketing and promotions in 2005 and was promoted to assistant athletic director in July 2007. He is responsible for expanding marketing initiatives within the university and San Marcos communities as well as throughout the I-35 corridor. He also oversees Texas State's corporate partnerships, event presentation and promotions departments. Prior to returning to Texas State, Miller worked with both Spurs Sports & Entertainment as well as Maloof Sports & Entertainment over the past three and half years. As a member of the Spurs' front office staff, Miller was the promotions coordinator for the San Antonio Spurs, WNBA Silver Stars and the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League. He coordinated sponsorship contracts for several of the company's biggest clients and oversaw fulfillment of on-court promotions, arena signage and player/mascot appearances among other responsibilities. As manager of strategic alliances and partner services for Maloof Sports & Entertainment, Miller worked with corporate partners of the Sacramento Kings, WNBA Sacramento Monarchs and ARCO Arena, coordinating the execution of contracts to help corporate sponsors receive the maximum exposure as partners of the basketball franchises and arena. In addition to developing innovative promotional programs for the Kings and Monarchs' corporate sponsors, Miller also oversaw suite and luxury box accounts, managing relationships with Maloof Sports & Entertainment clients. Miller previously worked two years at Texas State as an athletic marketing and promotions associate from 2000-02. While at the university, he was responsible for increasing sponsorship and ticket revenue at home athletic events. He was also responsible for the development and execution of in-game promotions, public address scripts, game sponsorships, scheduling halftime entertainment and coordinating game sponsorships. Miller holds both a bachelor degree in marketing (1998) and a master's degree in science in sports administration (1999) from Texas Tech University. He and his wife, Janera, have a daughter, Kendall. |
