Athletic Academic Center (AAC)
Located in the heart of campus, the AAC is an integral part of the life of Bobcat student-athletes and has a vast amount of services and assistance available. The AAC is structured after the principles of the NCAA CHAMPS / Life Skills Program which is created to provide student-athletes with five basic components, Academic Excellence, Athletic Excellence, Community Service, Career Development and Personal Development.

The AAC, which is open six days a week (Sunday-Friday), houses a state-of-the-art computer lab, a learning lab, areas for both individual and group study, and offices for the AAC staff. Furthermore, plans are underway for a new Academic Hall of Honor that will showcase Texas State student-athletes' academic achievements and honors.

Now a component of Texas State's University College under the direction of Dr. Ron Brown and David Flores, the AAC underwent a complete restructuring in the summer of 2008.

The AAC is led by an Assistant Athletic Director with the help of an Associate Director, two Student Development Specialists, numerous tutors and a front desk staff. The AAC staff, in conjunction with the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance, strives to educate student-athletes about the numerous NCAA rules and regulations while monitoring student-athletes progress for continuing eligibility.

Each student-athlete works with their college (Major) advisor to make sure that they are enrolled in the correct classes to graduate. The AAC staff verifies the classes to ensure that the student-athlete is working towards their degree, making yearly satisfactory progress and meeting GPA requirements.

The Athletic Academic Center is located in the heart of campus on the second floor above the University College in the Academic Services Building, north (ASB north).  This location, near The Den (student food court) makes it easy for student-athletes to attend study sessions and get academic assistance before or after class.
