On Record Pace with Leah Boatright

Every now and then, a player comes along that not only helps their team be successful each and every year, but also sets a high standard for every player in the future. For Texas State softball, that player is Leah Boatright. A four year starter, Boatright has played in both the outfield and the infield, overcome injuries and played in an NCAA regional all while chasing two significant school records.  (more)

After the Bobcats record of 15-15 overall, 9-7 in the Southland, I will be heading to Katy on Tuesday afternoon with the men's basketball team for the 2010 State Farm Southland Conference Tournament. As I'm sure you know by now, the `Cats will be taking on the Southeastern Louisiana Lions, Wednesday, tipoff at approximately 8:30PM. Robert Fisher and I will have the play by play on KTSW, 89.9FM and txstatebobcats.com as long as the `Cats are in the tournament. I hope we have a game to do on Saturday!  (more)

Greetings From the Mic with Bill Culhane Play Ball! The Bobcat baseball and softball seasons are upon us. Can the warm weather be far behind? Coach Harrington and Coach Woodard have built traditions of success and we wish continued wins to them and their teams. The Bobcat basketball conference seasons have turned the halfway mark and the SLC standings are starting to shake out, but just by a bit. Please don't forget that the Bobcat Bonanza is coming up on Saturday, March 20th. Golf, 2010 Spring Football Game, Champions Club, food and beverages, maroon and gold, treasures, who could ask for more? Major pats on the back to the Bobcat fans who have turned out recently to Strahan Coliseum to support our basketball teams. Well done, indeed!  (more)

The 2010 signing day is in the books...err...on the dotted line. Since the Bobcats only had a limited number of scholarships to offer compared to years past, the emphasis had to be on quality. The word "quality" is a word that permeates the academic, athletic, and personal accomplishments of our new student-athletes.
